Walking the Edge of Reality

Yesterday I got reprimanded for a "Terms of Service" violation at UF. I kinda deserved it, I admit; things got personal once again, and I let it get to me. I broke decorum and professionalism, and for that I apologize to everyone and anyone reading it.

Sometimes things need to be said. I probably should have said it differently though; that's for sure.

It's hard, you know. I no longer see the world of ARGs like an outsider or a hapless participant. What goes on in the world has become very personal to me, and I find myself sometimes being a sort of crusader for good. I've had PMs contact me for guidance, for assistance, for damage control... so much so that now my participation in certain games is in question because I might know too much. I suddenly represent the player's interests as well as the puppetmaster's interests; I've had PMs change their game because of reaction from their players, and I've had PMs ask me to nudge players in the right direction for the sake of game progression. I'm treading a fine line here, I know; guess all this fame I didn't ask for is a little more than expected.

Like I've said a few times before: I've had people think that *I* am a UF admin. As much as I'd like that, in light of current events I doubt that will ever be the case.

Anyway, water under the curtain... life goes on.

The next week and a half I am swamped beyond belief with work, so I don't see myself progressing much on my own game development. I've modified the signup page to show a launch date of "mid-2008" (my hosting's paid through December, at least); I figured that was vague enough. At least that'll give me enough time to truly expand the story, and hopefully it will result in a longer game experience.

Also, as an experimentation, I attempted to purchase advertising for one day on Facebook, but their site doesn't accept pre-paid Visa cards as payment. Oh well.

Meh...you're teh man anyway. Sometimes things have to be said and it's better coming from someone so respected in the community.

We're all anxious for this game to start, but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.
